We understand that studying in foreign country, away from your family and friends can be an exciting and yet a daunting experience. To support you through this time, we have created this useful guide in order to help you to prepare for your move to Malaysia and your first few days at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

REQUEST FOR AIRPORT PICK UP SERVICE (SEPTEMBER 2018 intake)

UTM do provide airport transfer service and you may book your airport pick up transfer request by fill in the following form [https://goo.gl/forms/7JJxXAhmxjX24ZKZ2] no later than 22nd August 2018 . Please email to studentexperience@utm.my for confirmation on your Airport transfer. The transfer service is available on 11am,  6pm and 11pm and from Senai Airport, Johor (Code JHB) to UTM Hostel/ UTM Scholar’s Inn only. The pick-up service is available from 25 August until 8 September 2018. Student arrived after the stipulate day and time are advised to arrange your own transportation to UTM Johor Bahru campus.

All airport taxis must operate using a prepaid system. You are advised to purchase taxi coupon at taxi counter in arrival hall. Please do not entertain any touts that offer you cheaper taxi fare. Alternatively, you can use your smartphone to book GrabCar.

STUDENT PASS ENDORSEMENT– NEW STUDENT

Upon arrival in Malaysia (at the airport), show to immigration officer your eVAL, SEV or eVisa and UTM Offer Letter to them.  If countries without embassy, please apply Visa on Arrival for Student (VOAS) at VOA counter before proceed to Immigration counter.  Special Pass will endorse by Immigration  for 30 days from the date of entry. Within  30 days period of the Special Pass, you will need to complete the following step to obtain a Student Pass:-

  1. Report to UTM International Office (Block S19, UTM JB or  8th Floor, Menara Razak, UTM KL) for Post Arrival Medical Check-up arrangement at UTM Health Center within 3 days of arrival and accommodation arrangement (if required).
  2. Do your Registration as a UTM student  at Student Recruitment & Admission Department (SRAD, UTM JB) or School of Graduate Studies (UTM KL).
  3. Submit document for  STUDENT PASS ENDORSEMENT within 7 days of arrival at UTM International  at Block S19 UTM, Johor Bahru or at Level 8, Menara Razak at UTM  Kuala Lumpur (Please refer to checklist documents for student pass endorsement-New student)

 

How long does it takes for student pass sticker endorsement for new student? 

It should take MINIMUM 21 working days (or minimum 4 weeks)  upon receipt of a complete document and payment. The student pass application must get Supporting Letter from EMGS prior submit to Immigration Department. Since the student pass is issued by the Immigration Department, the 21 working days is at the discretion of the Immigration Department (sometimes can be more). Thus,  student must remains in Malaysia for a minimum 4 weeks after registration for student pass sticker endorsement.

Note:
If student exit Malaysia (for any reason) after registration without complete the student pass endorsement, your VAL and SEV will be VOID. You have to re-apply again new VAL and do the same process if you required to obtain for student pass in future.
